If you travel to Vietnam, there are lots
of interesting Souvenirs and hand made products to buy.
The only difficulty is what to choose!
But before telling you some of the best
things to buy, let me give you an advice. When you spot something that you
like, BUY IT! Don't miss the chance because you probably won’t find it
again, especially if you are traveling to a different city!
I have noticed that each province has its
own traditions, specialities and particularities. So avoid getting disappointed
in the same way I did with my lanterns.
Vietnamese tea
They produce great tea in this part of the
world, so try different flavours and choose which one you like the most.
Vietnamese coffee
Vietnamese coffee has a test different
from any other coffe I have tried before. The flavour is very smooth and gives
the impression that has been mixed with a bit of chocolate. If You like the flavour,
get some of it!
Embroidery
The have Beautiful embroidery. Is not that
chip, but if you like it like me, go for it! Make sure you are paying the right
price. Some are handmade, and the price should reflect that. But many are made
using machines, which is fine, but again it should be much cheaper.
Lanterns
They are beautiful and you can find them
in all sizes and colours. A good advice is to get them in pairs. Also, if you
buy them wrapped, make sure you open them to avoid disappointment when you get
home, like me. The best place to get them is Hanoi or Hoi-An.
Wooden sculptors
You can get beautiful wooden sculptors in
shops or markets. You must negotiate the price!
Coconut bawls
They came in different colours and are
very cheerful. Quiet light, and not expensive.
There are plenty of options...
Just choose what you like and what you can afford.
