Homemade butter

Half tube of double cream, left over from dinner with friends, and a long weekend away booked …

Thanks to Nacy Birtwhistle no waste! 15 minutes of my time, and a  beautiful homemade butter, with amazing sea salt,  and some buttermilk are ready to be used. I am very grateful to Nancy and very proud of myself for having followed her advice!

Just whipped the cream until it passed Chantilly point and milk started disintegrated from butter.

Squeezed butter with my hand and saved the buttermilk.

Washed the butter in very cold water until it came clear and that was it!

Used a wooden spoon and a wooden spatula to help form a rectangle( as I don’t have a butter mold, added some sea salt and wrapped well using baking paper.

It’s ready for when I comeback from my trip.
