Oman

AL HAMRA - This is a village at the foot of the Hajar Mountains and is one of the oldest in Oman. The village has  wonderfully well-preserved mud brick houses built in the Yemeni style. Many of the houses are abandoned, mostly  in the upper parts of the village, as people prefer live in  modern houses elsewhere, but many others still have families living there. The village is very quiet and peaceful and almost doesn't look real as you rarely see locals, except when the Íman calls for the prayers  and lots of man and boys rush into

Morzine, French Alps:Wedding, flowers and snow

My trip to Morzin in the French Alps had a very serious propose: Attend the wedding of one of my best friends, and also be responsible for the flowers arrangements, candles and decoration in general. Upon arrival, no snow, a cold sunny, day and lots of stress, with a huge table full of flowers and foliage of all types, and the responsibility of making this bits and bobs look decent for my friend´s big day! Maybe would be interesting to mention that I had no previous experience in this activities, and the idea come up, after my curiosity led me to a flower arrangement workshop. I must say that was a very well used money, as I manage to hold the flowers together without falling apart during the ceremony. BRAVO! This was my weeding present and I am very proud. Shakahuka Portuguese edition

Today, I just had one of the most amazing "Shakshukas"  I’ve done. The first bite was like being back at our kitchen in the countryside,  when my father was alive, when we didn't have electricity in the house and when we had so much tomatoes that we would tomatoes at every meal. Back in the same kitchen where I have one of the most sweet memories of my childhood, laughing so much with my sister that the tomato I had in my mouth splashed out and we had to clean everything very quiclky, before mum arrive. Great one garlic and fry in a little bit of olive oil.  Add six small amazing quality tomatoes,  chopped in half, some salt and let them fry.  Add a tiny little bit of tomato paste and a little bit of hot water allowing to cook  Add some oregano and then crack two eggs in the sauce. Add a pinch of chilies and  top up with more oregano.  Leave to cook covered and serve with warm bread.

N ão creio que seja verdade o que dizem, que ao viajar alguém se possa transformar em outra pessoa. O que acontece é que nos livramos de nós mesmos, das nossas obrigações e do nosso passado, tal como reduzimos tudo o que possuímos aos poucos objectos necessários que vão dentro da mala.
